I have a database backup which is 15GB. I need to put it
onto a DVD which has 4.7GB capacity. What I'd like to do
is zip it up, but this is not possibly due to the 2gb
limit of winzip. Doesw anyone know what tools there are
to do this type of thing?
TIA,
BBBB
WINRAR ?

Also check out WinRar as Uri suggested.
Also, you might be able to use something like SQL Lite Speed or UltraBac to
create a compressed backup.

backup file while backing up.

which no longer has the 2 Gig file limit. Winrar does not have that limit
either.
If this is a one-off operation, you can use our free MiniSQLBackup Lite,
which will compress the backup directly from SQL Server. There is no limit
on the file size.
