Database backup ? using Enterprise Manager

Hi I am using enterprise manager (SQL2000 server) and want to set up a
database backup schedule to occure daily at 11pm. Anyhow heard that you can
do this with Enterprise manager and also heard that you must activate the
server agent. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Database and Logfile Growth when Attaching SQL2000 DB to SQL2005

Can anyone tell me why my SQL2000 database has grown aprox 15 % and my Log file 20,000 % when I attach it to SQL2005 .I've Thousands of Databases to Upgrade, but with the log file increasing to more than the size of the Database Its going to be a struggle !

It also takes a fair ammount of time to attach,

I suspect there is some reindexing going on , as when I try to reattach to SQL 2000 I get index errors ?

Is the re anything I can do in advance to reduce the database growth ?

I know I can truncate the log afterward but the peak diskspace consumed during my Migration may be an issue !

Pretty Certain that the DBServer is on Service pack two which should conatin the hot fixes you have provided the link to.

amyway this has given me some pointers and things to check, thanks for your help.

Even if Auto growth is set high any idea what during an attach may be causing the need to allocate the additional space ?
